multiple desktop images

I am trying to have my many Desktops have my Aperture pictures. When I go into System Preferences, and select Aperture and a Project, I am able to have those pictures appear on one Desktop but the others have the generic Apple blue star nebulus. How can I have all my images appears as different images on different desktops from the same Aperture>Project?
