If I download an app on my iPhone does that app get downloaded to my iPad and displayed as such on a page?
The reason I ask is that some apps appear on my iPad from my iPhone and vice versa but others don't appear at all?
What's the reason behind this? According to all the stuff on apples website about iCloud it should appear.
Whether a given device (call it "A") will download apps purchased on another device (call it "B") is controlled by a setting on "A". Even when the option is set on, not all apps would be eligible for download.
There are many apps that run on an iPad but not an iPhone, and some that run on an iPhone but not an iPad. There are also apps that only run on certain versions of iOS; that might come into play if your devices are on different versions.
Dont really understand then why apps marked as iPhone and iPad compatible dont download then!
Well, if your iPhone and iPad are running the same version of iOS, neither do I.
Just tried again with an app that is designed for iphone and ipad, downloaded on my iphone and did not appear on my ipad, reversed the scenario and it didnt work either!
However, I can obviously go into the App store purchased section and see it in there!?!
Sorry if it's an obvious question, but have you got 'Automatic Downloads' for Apps set to 'on' in the Store settings on your iPad? Just a thought.
Yes i have, I checked that, have even selected off then on again on both devices.
Its strange as I downloaded one the other day on my iphone and it appeared on my ipad, that was an iphone only app. However thats the first one in months that has arrived.
Out of curiosity, how long does it usually take for apps to transfer across devices?
Does the receiving device need to be in standby? Cant ever remember it having to be the case.

downloaded an app on my ipad1 at 12:29 - appeared inside 1 minute.
