Q: My keyboard will pair with my iPad but will not pair with my MAC...any ideas?

I have had my iMac for 2 years now...I have never had a problem pairing my keyboard.  The batteries died in my keyboard so I changed them and now I can't get the keyboard to pair to my iMac.  I know the keyboard is fine and the batteries work because the keyboard will pair to my ipad.  Any reason my iMac is having trouble pairing with the keyboard?  Thanks!

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

If your keyboard is currently paired with your iPad, you will need to unpair it there first - it can only be paired with one device at a time..

I didn't have it paired to my iPad originally.  I just paired it with my iPad to make sure the keyboard would work.

If it is paired currently, you need to unpair it if you want to pair it back with the iMac.

As I said, it can only be paired to one device. If you want to use it with another, you need to unpair it first and then pair it with the other one.

And, if you need to sign in with your password to your Mac, you will need to borrow any USB keyboard to do so and to pair it; once it's recognized, you can use the wireless keyboard again.
