I don't know if it would hurt it, but I would strongly suggest that you use nothing chemical on the surface.

I clean mine with a soft cotton or microfiber cloth. The chemical you used may have removed some of the material Apple uses to coat the surface.

And the last question, should i put some water or anything on the cloth to make it easier to clean ?
