Not sure if your question is meant for me. My email provider is Network Solutions. Network Solutions does not support SSL in either direction. I suspect that Apple QA doesn't check the behavior of its software interacting with non-SSL email servers very carefully. I say this because I am having another problem with my Network Solutions email. I can't read my encrypted Network Solutions email sent to my iOS devices. Decryption of my mac.com email works fine. Also, I can read encrypted email fom either account on my Mac OS X computers.
I dumped Netsol as a host and an email provider for similar issues, never could get the mail to behave but, that doesn't help you.
Archive and delete the account, remake it exactly as per Netsol requirements. (posted below)
When setting up:
- POP - choose POP and the incoming server port will default to 110
- IMAP - choose IMAP and the incoming server port will default to 143
- All other settings are the same.
- Username = user@yourdomain.com
- Password = the password you set up when you configured your mail box
- Incoming Mail Server = mail.yourdomain.com
- Outgoing Mail Server = smtp.yourdomain.com
- Outgoing Server Requires Authentication (typically found in advanced options or settings)
- Do NOT check "Log on Using Secure Password Authentication"
- Use the same Username and Password as Incoming or select "Use Same Settings as Incoming"
- Outgoing Server Port = 2525 or 587
- This is subject to change based on the individual preferences of your ISP
You didn't say whether you are using POP or Imap, so both settings are posted.
