Q: Can I restore purchased Jailbroken 3GS?

Hi, I have just brought a 3GS 32GB for my other half but I have noticed that it is Jailbroken, can I safely restore it to normal by restoring via iTunes? I would rather restore and keep than return it and try to find another.

Many Thanks for your time in advance!

iPhone 3GS, iOS 5.1.1, Jailbroken =(

Shouldn't be a problem restoring with iTunes as a new iPhone unless the hacking caused a problem. Only one way to find out.

Hard to say, one of the downsides to jailbreaking an iPhone is that you may NEVER be able to install a stock iOS back on the phone. Thus, if you try & restore, it "could" error out & leave you with a brick. Apple warns about this, & without knowing how the phone was jailbroken, can't guarantee this won't happen to you.

If it does, you're own your phone. We can't supply support here.
