I have just had my old phone dechipped and am trying to reactivate it for my daughter,it goes all the way through the reactivating process until it gets to the last
3 minutes,then it keeps saying that the activation server is temporarily unavailable, any help

What exactly do you mean by 'dechipped'?
I assume you mean you hacked it or had it hacked to unlock it.
If it was unlocked by anyone other that the carrier it was originally locked to, you have most likely managed to permanently destroy the phone.
From time to time I see that happen..I think the activation server may literally be unavailable..perhaps getting hammered by a bunch of activation requests. You can try later...or at a different time of day ..also, check out these KB's
