How do you get rid of autodot?

When you make two spaces in between words a dot appears automatically how do you later get rid of the dot? Because I am using a free app to write all of my exam notes but it has a few complications and I just need to get rid of the dot... Anyone know how?

iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi + Cellular, iOS 5.1.1

If you mean the dot like a period at the end of a sentence - Settings>General>Keyboard>"."Shortcut>Off.
