mac mini bootcamp USB non sytem disk installation help

okay so i used the bootcamp assistant to create a windows 7 install USB and a windows partition (already have apple support software).It then restarts to install windows where it reboots once again into a screen saying


non-system disk

press any key to reboot

_


no keys work on my keyboard so i have to hold the power button and boot back in to mac os x by holding alt,

if i dont hold alt to boot back in to mac os x i am met by the same screen , same scenario


any help on passing this to finish the installation?

Mac mini, Windows 7, boot up problem , back up or fix?

I was struggling with this same problem. Reviewing the troubleshooting section of the Bootcamp Install & Setup Guide guide, I tried this and it worked:


  • Boot holding the Option Key
  • Click the icon for the USB drive labled "Windows"
  • Click the arrow that appears underneath that icon
  • Immediately start tapping the space bar (or any other key presumably)


Believe it or not, that worked. I'm sure if you knew the appropriate timing, you wouldn't have to keep tapping a key, but that's what worked for me.
