Because as implemented, it requires a hardware feature that the listed machines have, that earlier machines do not have.

I don't believe this, because with a softwaretool (airparrot) you can do it..

I think it's blocked by apple.

It really doesn't matter what you believe.  Apple's implementation requires hardware rendering support, your device does not have that support, therefore Apple's implementation does not work on your device.

Airparrot's implementation does NOT require hardware rendering support, therefore it works on your device.

Marc no offense but your being kind of a jerk dont stick up for a company that hasent done anyhting for you nor aginst you i am a PAID apple developer and a apple certified hardware technicain i know FOR A FACT that it is simply a selling point !!!!!! THERE IS NO ! HARDWARE LIMITATION !!! what would have to be done because of the denser metal and plastic casing over the attena on the airport card the power that goes to it would have to be bosted to stream in the way it does to not limit badn with but doing this would decrease battery in older models
