2009 imac hardware mod questions

are we allowed to discuss hardware modding on these forums? if not can someone suggest a good site where this is covered?

i have a 24" 2009 imac & i want to replace the optical drive with a SSD for all my software, & replace the standard 1TB HD with a 2TB drive.

My main reason for wanting to do this is more internal storage, but also because i record music & want to have my SSD for logic & record to the

2TB drive, while also using my FW800 drive to pull loops etc from

cheers

The problem is the internal temp sensor that Apple stuck inside the drives. There are viable work arounds. Some talk of replacing the SuperDrive with the SSD but I think the SATA speed is lower on the SuperDrive connection. Google some off Forum blogs and you'll see what I'm talking about.
