Virtual NIC in Mountain Lion Server

I have a Mid 2012 Mac Pro that we are using with OS X Server 10.8. I bonded both NICs into one virtual adapter, but OS X Server.app doesn't recognize it (at least consistently) for a bunch of services. Netinstall for sure. A lot of others give an error that "no Ethernet device found", but will otherwise install fine and use to bonded vitural NIC anyway. Anyone have any luck getting bonded (virtual) nics working properly with OS X Server 10.8?
