Aperture 3 Missing Master Files

Hi Chris. Where do you think the Originals (the files you imported) are?

You use "File➞Locate Referenced Files" to attach Images to their missing Originals.

Right-click one of the Images with the "Missing Original" badge (the arrow with the superimposed yellow warning sign), and select "Show in Finder". What path is listed in the pop up? Why would your Originals be there? Can you bring them on-line?

I'm used to seeing something like this when I select "Show in Finder" from the context-sensitive menu of Images that have missing Originals:

But do you know, wehre the original images are? Then rename the 55 image(s) in question using the Finder to exactly the names that Aperture is expecting - or just for the images that are important to you, since it is so much work. I had to do that myself once, after messing up my referenced masters 😝

So you don't have a folder on your Desktop named amy-wayne-4-8-12 -bw? Did you at one time then move it somewhere else?

Have you searched with Spotlight for a file named "Amy-Wayne"?

Yikes. If you relocated them to the Desktop and then deleted those folders... 😟

Do you have a Time Machine backup?

How did you rename "the files"? And by "the files" do you mean your Originals, which at that point should have been inside your Aperture Library?
