iTunes for Windows won't play or rip any CD's

I have a New Windows 7 PC and am running iTunes version 10.6.3.25(the latest) 64 bit version. I can not get iTunes to do anything concerning my cd/dvd burner. Under DEVICES on the left pane of iTunes the cd won't appear. My other Device, an IPAD, will appear and functions normally. I get no warning messages. I have tried the following:

Deleted iTunes and all apple software >2 times

rebooted >20 times

Tried an older version of iTunes

Updated the Gear software drivers to the latest

Removed the Registry Filters and reinstalled them adding the following

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4D36E965-E325- 11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

UpperFilters, set to GEARAspiWDM

I have also tried 3 seperate CD's - which work on my other computers (xp, vista 64) running latest iTunes

The CD's also play and rip on Widows Media Player on the new windows 7 PC.

Any suggestions? CD Hotel
