I'm on OS X v.10.6.8 . I have a few movies in the Trash and everytime I try to 'empty' it, it takes too long and even stopping it does not work. I need help.

How can I speed up the 'emptying' process of my trash. Everytime I have movies to delete, it takes hours & hours. Also, when there is a message that the item I want to delete is locked, what options do I have? I can't seem to take it out of the trash once it's there. Will appreciate some help.

1: Click on the Finder (desktop) and choose Finder > Preferences from the menu.

2: Change the Advanced function of Secure Empty Trash so it's off
