I have 4 updates refusing to update on my phone. I have tried turn off/turn on, and it does not help.
They are draining the battery while they sit and wait, but I have been unable to hard reset the phone and start over, and of course, Apple wants $30 to help me.
Does anyone know how to hard reset?

So holding the lock and home buttons until the Apple logo appears didn't work?
No, unfortunately, they still show 'waiting', and my battery is down to 80%, which normally doesn't happen until later in the afternoon.
Have you tried to restore your phone? If you do, make sure it's backed up
A reset of the phone will stop the updates from downloading.
You can always turn the device off and back on.
Or you can tap on the apps that are in waiting status and pause them.
Unfortunately I have tried all these things. I even tried deleting them via iTunes and they still show up on my phone.
Then delete them off the device.
Herein lies the problem. Since the programs are in 'waiting' mode, I cannot delete them.
I'm afraid the only thing I can do is a total reset.
Have you ever heard of this before?
No... just curious, is there a reason why you have not simply downloaded the updates via iTunes on the computer and synced the device yet?
