How to add characters to Character Viewer?

How to add characters to Character Viewer?

I like working with historical writing systems, however writing systems such as Runic and Old Persian are unavailable on the character viewer. I have the characters saved as PNG; is there anyway to add them to character viewer?

Character Viewer shows what is contained in your fonts, so all you have to do add the appropriate fonts to your system. Here are some

Also try a google search on "runic unicode font" etc.
