Problem printing to my HP2840 since upgrading to Mountain Lion

All applications crash when I hit the print button to print to the HP 2840 Colour LaserJet printer. Other printers (including my old HP970C) work fine. I have re-installed Mountain Lion and also the Printer driver without success. I have repaired permissions. I can print to this printer from a Clean account I have on my machine, but of course this does not have my usual software installed.

Another curiousity is that I cannot "print" to a PDF document.

Can anyone help?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7)

Open Finder, select Go > Go to Folder, write /Library/Printers/hp/PDEs and delete hpPostScriptPDE.plugin
