Can someone suggest a texting app that will let an andriod device text an iPod Touch? We are in Canada, the iPod touch user has a gmail account. Any suggestions?

I use the app 'Touch', I haven't yet tried it to see if it works with android to apple device, but I was told it does, so you could try that.
But there are loads of other apps that should work, just search in app store for free texting, until you find one which works over all devices that can get apps.
It depends on which iPod touch you have...
If you have:
iPod touch 4 or 5 then there are many apps like
1: Line
2: We Chat
3: Whatsapp
4: Google Chat
And many more....

Wow old thread! I found Textie, which was a free app, and allows you to send photos etc for free over wifi. However, for some reason, texts are often delayed and the screen doesn't re-fresh properly. Might try another app sometime...
