Quicktime only plays audio of .AVI file (missing xtor codec)

I just recorded a session of a game I was playing on my PC. I used Dxtory for video capture. I transferred the file to my mac to edit in iMovie, but whenever I try playing it with QT or VLC, it only plays the audio. No video. I always get an error saying that I am missing an xtor codec. I've tried looking for the codec but I'm coming up with blanks.

Help?

Maybe but no guarantee if this is some obscure codec:

Perian codecs for Quicktime - http://www.perian.org - plugins to add functionality to Quicktime for playing additional audio and video formats. 2012- No longer being developed but may still work.

Quicktime audio problems, Perian, VLC - http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=9013669 - read note about uninstalling prior DIVX support before installing Perian.

or:

VLC media player - http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ - general media player that plays just about anything.
