85W MagSafe A1290 vs. A1343

My new MBP came with an A1343 85W power adapter. My old collection of MBP MagSafes are A1290. Are they interchangeable ? The output voltage listed on the stickers are slightly different.

Nope. The 2012 models came out with the new MagSafe 2 connector. If you want to power up your new toy with your ancient power bricks, besides making sure that the wattage is the same, you need to purchase the MagSafe to MagSafe 2 adapter. On sale at all Apple Stores.

Edit: to clarify, the 2012 RETINA MacBook Pros use the MagSafe 2. The regular non-Retina MacBook Pros still use the regular MagSafe connector.
