Q: Problems with iWork '09 in Mountain Lion

After installing Mountain Lion, I've got problems using the iWork '09 applications. I tried to update them, but it's still not possible to open or create a document. Would anyone have tips/ideas about this?

After the upgrade, Pages launches, which it would not do before the upgrade. But I still cannot open an existing document, whether from the Cloud or on my Mini. I cannot open a document either. Bummer.

I found that re-installing iwork using the original DVD, followed by downloading the standalone installers for the subsequent iwork updates, was the solution.  Originally, I tried to use software update/app store to install the iwork 9.3, but that left my iwork apps unable to open documents.  So, I suppose that the app store version of the update must have some crucial difference that makes it not work for those of us who purchased the suite back in the days before the app store was launched.

Mine worked after I got a replacement disc and reinstalled from that. Nothing else worked.

You just saved my bacon, man!

I just, recently, switched to using OS X 10.8.5  Mountain Lion this past January after I found that OS X 10.9.5 just unstable enough for many of my older application software.

OS X 10.8.5 has been rock solid for my needs except for a few application snags and system snags.

iWorks '09 has been a problem issue for me since January and I wasn't finding a fix or other updates until I stumbled upon this post herenin the ASC.

Thank you for finding this issue and fix!

I am that much closer now to finally moving permanently over to a newer OS X version, now!

    Again, THANK YOU!!!
