ipod classic doesnt respond only shows apple then red cross in red circle and doent show up at all in i tunes. i tunes has been updated and reinstalled so this is not problem and battery is charged. help anyone?

That symbol,

is also known as the Fatal Red X, which mean that your iPod Hardisk is dying, cannot be booted up or dead. There is nothing much we can suggest here except read thisApple support Article or to send your iPod in to Apple Store or any 3rd Party iPod Repair vendor, for a replacement.
