I went to try and update to mountain lion and it said I had to sign in.. so I tried and it said: " an unknown error has occurred". I tried a wrong password to see if that was it but it said incorrect password, so I know im putting my information in correctly. WHY WONT IT LET ME SIGN INTO THE APP STORE?! I was able to sign into itunes though...
MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
First, make sure your Mac qualifies to upgrade to Mountain Lion >
Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.
If your Mac qualifies, try deleting the cache associated with the App Store..
Quit the App Store.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy / paste: ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore
Click Go them move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash.
Relaunch the App Store.
If that didn't help, installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Comboreinstalls the App Store for you.
It's ok to this even though you are already running v10.6.8.
Restart your Mac then try downloading Mountain Lion.
