How can I install Mountain Lion from the Recovery disk of a machine that had Lion ?
Hello all!!
I recently picked up a used MacBook (Uni-body Aluminum 2009 MacBook running Lion). The laptop was running Lion, I then wiped the machine (to clear all personal data from pervious owner). I booted, held option to access the recovery HDD. Upon booting into the disk i wanted to reinstall the OS. I dont have the disks that come with all MacBooks to reinstall the factory OS. So i have bought Mountain Lion for my other laptop (2011 Macbook). Is there a way to either: Make a disk of the downloaded version of Mountain Lion or downloan a copy straight to the laptop I am attempting to resotre???
Under my account I never bought Lion only had Snow Leopard and Mountain Lion, I suspect this is the issue which is why I wanted to explore the option of making a bootable disk with the newer OS on it to restore the other laptop. My apple ID is associated with Mountain Lion.
MacBook, OS X Mountain Lion, Have Lion resotre w/ Mnt Lion
