Q: does iPad connection kit compatible to iphone4s only. i have the older iPhone and when i connect to the iPad connection kit, i get the message "this accessory is not supported by iPhone." how can i resolve this? thanks.

I've used it with the iPhone 3G to copy photos from it to the iPad (both running iOS 5+).

Just tried it agan with my old iPhone 3G (running 4.2.1, not 5.1.1) and I'm able to copy photos from it to my iPad (5.1.1) with the kit - but it doesn't work the other way round (iPad to phone)

It's the new iPad, but I had previously also copied photos via the kit from the phone to a first gen iPad. And you are connecting the kit part into the iPad and the cable into the phone ?

You could try a soft-reset on both and see if that makes any difference : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.
