Aug 22, 2012 5:06 AM in response to mende1by falKon,I thought so but now I found the article below which shows that you can have them both running at the same time:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4968?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
But I think that there is a way of having them both as you can see in the link above.... ?????
Will post back if I find how.

Aug 22, 2012 5:09 AM in response to falKonby mende1,You can't. That's in Lion, but the calendars stored in your Mac are in iCloud when you activate this

Aug 22, 2012 5:23 AM in response to mende1by falKon,I found this but there are some steps you have to do:
Link: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4967
Method 1: Manually uploading calendars to iCloud
In most cases this method should not be necessary. However, you may wish to follow these steps if:
- You still have some calendar data on your computer that you have not moved to iCloud.
- You don't want to automatically merge iCal and iCloud data. This is the more hands-on, and technical method.
To manually upload local Calendars to iCloud, you will need to export you local calendars and reimport them as iCloud calendars.

Aug 22, 2012 5:44 AM in response to mende1by falKon,Aperently you have to have "Calendars & Reminders" in the iCloud System Preferences off then you import the calendars you have on your mac to the iCloud one by one.
The only problem I have is that Calendars and Reminders are combined so I switch that option off from the iCloude in system Preferences I will be switching off Reminders too. HHhmmmmm.....
Apple not nice.
