Q: 2008 MB Pro logic board failed -- "NVIDIA video issue". Eligible for refund of repair?

The work order that I received after the repair said the symptom was "NVIDIA video issue". My MB Pro was purchased in Sept 2008, so by the 4-year extended warranty I think I should have had the logic board replaced for free. However, when I called the local Apple Store afterwards to clarify, the guy on the other end seemed confused as to what I was asking about, and kept reiterating that I was out of AppleCare warranty and thus had to pay $310+tax for the flat-rate repair that was performed.

Some other threads on this forum seem to suggest that the program has ended, but I'm still within 4 years of purchase... any clarification?

Apple has been telling their employees not to recognize the recall it seems, I had a Late 2007 model that fell in the Nvida issue and they say it wasn't part of the patch, despite having slight video issues with it.

So don't fall for that trick, because my machine died a few months later and it was the video chip according to Apple, but by time it did it was past the 4 year recall window.

    So I got screwed basically.

happy ending -- called Apple and their consumer relations person helped me get a refund. She was very helpful.
