Good day!

I'm trying to understand why my videos where not properly transferred when I imported my pixs to iPhoto from files on my MacBook to my iMac.

Can I just select my photos and videos from the Finder, or export from iPhoto onto say a memory USB stick?

In one case my videos just didn't work when they were imported.

I'm still in the learning process with importing my pixs and videos.

Does the .ctg file need to be imported as well?

I don't know how iPhoto deals with this file.

I'm just learning how to use AirDrop.

Is this a better way to transfer my photos and videos to iPhoto?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

How did you move your Library from the MacBook to the iMac?

    Thank you Terence for replying.

First of all, I imported my Canon pixs using a card reader to my MacBook.

Then later...  (I don't quite remember exactly what I did but here are two possibilities)

... I most likely  exported photos and videos from iPhoto on my MacBook to a USB memory stick, then importing the data to iPhoto on my iMac.

... The other possibility is that I selected the photos and videos in my MacBook's iPhoto, selected View in Finder, moved or copied them to a USB memory stick then imported them to my iMac's iPhoto.

    The result was that...

I had obtained pictures of each video but no movies attached.

    Does this make sense?

I still have all my videos and photos on my MacBook, luckily, so I can try the proper way of transferring from one Mac to another without losing the videos.

To get the Videos out of iPhoto:

File -> Export and set the kind to Original
