How to turn back a windows macbook pro to mac osx?

A friend of mine has a mac book pro wich is bought by his father three years ago. But his father didn't like mac os so he installled windows on it(very very very sturpid:s). But now three years later he rediscovered Apple and now he likes mac osX so he wants to undo the install of windows. Is it possible to switch back to mac os x? Like nothing happened. Just removing windows and installing a clean mac osX again??

1. Insert the Leopard DVD and press C key in boot.

2. Select Utilities > Disk Utility, press the hard disk and erase it.

3. Close Disk Utility and install Leopard

4. When Leopard install has finished, go to  > Software Update

5. Leopard is a discontinued product, so call Apple to buy Snow Leopard

6. Install Snow Leopard. If you want, you can buy Mountain Lion in the App Store and install it, so you will use the most recent Mac OS X

Also, press Option key in boot before doing these and check if you have the Mac OS X volume
