Changing the date a few years forward then changing it back works!!
Had the same problem. Couldn't update my apps on iPad 3 however could download new ones.
Changed the date to a year on, went back to App Store Updates. Mentioned something to do with security and to check time/date settings.
went back to time and date and re-enabled the set automatically button.
back to App Store updates and hey presto. all updating now.

I had to change the date two months ahead on my iPhone to access the update portion of the app store. That should actually fix anyone's problem. I think it's a glitch in the system since the new iOS update is coming in october it is messing with everyone's app store updates. Let me know if this didn't work for you. drumersgrl@hotmail.com :-)
Just had same problem, on searching the Internet came across a solution, change your date to one year ahead and then put it back to correct date, my apps then updated and could connect to the store again. Hope this helps. X
Changing the date is not working for me.
Try changing the year from 2012 to 2014. That is what worked for me.
Tried all the way to 2016 and even tried going back to 2010, still nothing.
Changed my date and fixed my problem too. Awesome.
Change the date to 2021. Go to app store and click updates, you will get an error telling you to check your date and time. Go back to settings and change the auto date and time back on. Then go back to app store updates should work. If it doesn't you can email me directly at deumersgrl@hotmail.com and I will try to help you troubleshoot further. Thanks
Didn't work. Are there other steps besides changing the date?
The only other thing I can think of would be call tech support. U could reset your iPad/iPhone but that would erase everything on it and reset it. I'd call first
Of course if I call them the only solution from them will be to factory reset as usual. Seems they would be getting a fix for this as it has to be a problem they created.
Sorry it's not resolving for you! I have gotten lots of emails and everyone has resolved their issue by changing the date. If I come across another solution I will post it here.
