Oct 15, 2012 12:43 PM in response to Appleus201by Ruberjon,This is what worked for me: After trying most of the various fixes with no success, I went to the iTunes store via the online website. No problem that way, but still had little hope that using the iPad app would work, especially after shutdown. To my surprise, iTunes has now continued to connect through the app, even after repeatedly closing the app, using other apps and functions, turning off the iPad, etc.
Additional info: I'm using an iPad 2, and have not upgraded to IOS 6. The App Store app wasn't an additional problem, as opposed to some Posts; only the iTunes App. It was only access through my iPad's iTunes store app that was the issue.
I hope this can help, plus I hope that it continues to work. The problem has obviously been a continuous issue for some, and it would be nice to know the cause.

Oct 16, 2012 1:00 PM in response to Appleus201by Wardy2013,I Had the same issue and managed to solve this by turning my Wifi off in settings and downloading an app using my 3G connection. Once this was complete, i was able to connect to itunes using the wifi setting. This will not help if you don't have 3G but it may point to the issue being one connected to your WiFi router. If you don't have 3G, turn your router off and on and try again.

Oct 17, 2012 12:52 AM in response to Appleus201by Dr.Shaikh,It's a new thing everyday.. Sometimes it says I cannot buy or update my apps from the Emirati store, currently I'm in the UEA even though I have the US iTunes account. It asks me to switch to the US iTunes Store.
It worked when I went into Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID>View Apple ID>Chance Region. You will have to renter your payment info but then it starts to work again..
I hate how it stops working randomly and I don't realize it till I'm in a hurry and need to use the store!

Oct 17, 2012 7:32 AM in response to boltondby Caelizal,I contacted apple support twice regarding my iPad 2 on ios6 not connecting to the App Store with the error message of 'cannot connect to the iTunes store' the second email solved my problem.
Please completely exit out of the programs (i.e., the iTunes and App Store) using multi tasking.
1) Double tap the home button
2) Hold down on an icon
3) Tap the red "X" on iTunes, and the App Store.
4) Tap Settings > Store > Tap your Apple ID, and choose sign out
5) Tap Settings
6) Tap General
7) Tap Reset
8) Tap Network Settings
Hope this helps some of you.

Oct 19, 2012 10:22 PM in response to boltondby Soulfiremage,I've the same problem and no fix listed in 11 pages has helped, sadly.
Apple have screwed up my use of the Ipad. Ios 6 was a bad idea. I simply lost out.
It's slower overall.
Slower to browse, many sites I have to repeatedly reload. Especially on https.
App store is 100% unuseable now, cannot connect to receive any updates, whatever I do. Whether I change to google dns, reset router, reset Ipad. Nothing works.
Fortunately, my prime reason for buying it works. It reads pdfs very well. But outside of this, for browsing and fun stuff I was doing - fluidly - for months, IOS 6 has broken it.
Stupid stupid clots. I do development work myself, I appreciate the pressures. But I believe the main reason they lumbered us with ios 6, is just so they can force uninstall google maps. A ****, pointless decision from the view of the paying clients.
I hate politics dictating useability like this. M$ are crumbling because of such idiocy, are Apple doing the same? Sorry to blend in other issues, just ****** off with weeks of nonsense since IOS6. I don't have the patience for support lines either. It's simple, FIX IT, downgrade me to ios 5.5-that worked.

Oct 24, 2012 9:14 AM in response to boltondby PousDog,I've got IPAD 2 on OS 6.
The following worked for me:
1 Go to Settings->General->Reset All Settings
2. Go to Settings->Mobile Data->switch it to OFF
3. Go to Settings->WiFi->set your network, then tap on your network and change DNS to 8.8.8.8 and press Return on keyboard
4. Press Home button
5 Wait for WiFi connection symbol to reappear
6 Go to AppStore - all should work now
Good luck!

Oct 24, 2012 7:32 PM in response to PousDogby AmyOnline56,This did not work! But in digust I finally called Apple and since my iPad is relatively new, I am entitled to 15 minutes of help. I went to the Apple store and they reinstalled ios6, and now all works well. So far. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Oct 24, 2012 7:35 PM in response to arjunbalu747by AmyOnline56,I went to the Apple store and they reinstalled ios6 because NONE of the other workarounds worked for me more than once. If you are entitled to free assistance, or are willing to pay for it, this is the most efficient fix. Or ask them how to reinstall on your own.
Good luck to everyone!

Oct 25, 2012 9:03 PM in response to boltondby Dskimmer,Sadly I have an iPad 1 and I am having the same problem. No chance for ios6. I deleted a bunch of Apps and some of them were paid apps. Now when I go to the store they are not showing in my account. I will probably buy another tablet in the next year, sadly it won't be an iPad. Maybe an Android, but probably a Microsoft. I am dissappointed apple is having this problem.

Oct 25, 2012 9:47 PM in response to Drumersgrlby Dskimmer,Drumersgrl;
I tried most of your suggestions I still couldn't get it to work. I have an iPad 1 and probably won't get the ios6 update, so I am doomed. I can download apps after they are deleted. I deleted all the apps that needed upgrades. and reinstalled the free ones. The paid ones are lost, probably forever. I do appreciate all the help you tried to give to people.
Many thanks for you help
