Ok!  I got mine to work using that date change.  I set date to 2021 in the Setttings->General->Date&Time->Diabled Set to Automatically and change date to 2021.  I went to the App Store app. Went to Updates..and it gave me a message about it hasn't perform an update in a long time due to one of the reasons it gave me.  After that...it told me to go to the settings.  Anyway, I closed App Store in the Multitask area. Went back tto Date&Time and change date back to original and set to Automatically again.  I reopened App Store and at the Update options it told me I had several apps that needed update.  IT WORKS NOW!

i have this issue too. haven't changed any settings on the ipad and it started happening by itself.

Can sign-in/connect to itunes store, but when i want to update the Apps I have installed, I get the 'can't connect to itunes store' message.

if you go in manually and select the applications you have already installed, if there is an update pending the button will read 'update'. press this and the update gets downloaded to your ipad. bit tedious, but a workaround to the problem in the mean time. hope it helps until someone figures out why it's happening.

This worked for me. I think maybe I am getting the problem because I was chanigng the date for a game app so it would give me more energy the next day. It was a sort of cheat comand. Maybe not, but what nickwill20 suggested worked for me. Moved date to todays day in december 2012. Was able to update all apps I could not before. Same message, could not connect to istunes store for upates.

I didn't change any of my date settings, so this wasn't the cause of the problem for me.

I'm having the same issues - First noticed it yesterday 'Cannot connect to iTunes store' on both my iPhone and iPad. I've tried moving the date ahead, but for some reason it gets stuck there! And refuses to go back til I do it manually, as automatically does nothing. =(

Anybody know of other ways I can get apps to update or be able to download new ones? It's driving me crazy.

I thought it was my Internet at first, but that's working fine.

do a search in itunes for the apps that may have been updated. if they have the install button will have turned to UPDATE. press this, and it will update. the automatic updates in itunes seem to be screwed, everything else works.

It's all screwed! I tried that, and the app sits 'waiting' gets fed up, haha n comes up with 'cannot connect to iTunes store' does this for new apps as well, just sits there idle =(

Any ideas what the problem could be? And if Apple know about it? It's driving me bonkers!!

    Thanks

I am having to use my computer and go to iTunes, select apps then at the bottom eight there is check for updates and you can download the updates and sync your device.

Go into settings and manually change the date/time to 1 year in the future.  Open the App Store, click on the Update button.  Once the error regarding security appears and says to update the time, close and go back into settings and set the time back to the current correct time.

Reopen App Store and click on the Updates button again, and all should be good.  This was what worked for me (and seen many others after sifting through many responses here).

    Hopefully helps others!

Change the date to the future, try it again, get a different error, then change it back to the automatic date. Thanks for resolving this issue, others in this thread! Worked perfectly.
