What camera uses .mts files?
What Mac do you have, and what version of OS X? You show as running Tiger 10.4.11 which is not able to run iMovie 11.
Quite a few but mine specifically is the Sony dsc hx200v.
My New Mac desktop with Lions latest updates?
18.2 mp camera and 1080p HD video
The video files AVCHD movie quality will not transfer to IMovie .mts files need to be converted. I'm looking for the best process for Mac.
Also where do I show as running Tiger?
Thanks.

Thanks I will try it out this enening.
if you filmed in 50p (PAL) or 60p (NTSC) iMovie won't import. If you set the camera to 50i or 60i it will import fine as will 25p.
Normally you can put the card in your iMac, or connect your Camera with usb.
In both cases in iMovie select Import->from camera.
But then again iMovie doesn't support yet the 50p or 60P format.
Ben
Yes that worked. Everything you mentioned is correct. Thanks🙂
