Mail automatically selects my Gmail account when sending email even when I send email from me@myownaccount.com

Mail>Preferences>Accounts...drag the account you want as default to the top of the list.

that doesn't work...
I select me@myaccount.com as sender.
But then I get the message "Cannot send this email..."
And it says that it's trying to send the email with my me@gmail.com account but with the server of my "myaccount.com"
Did you find a solution for your issue? It sounds like an issue with the SMTP server settings for that email account. If you still haven't resolved this issue, feel free to look at the directions I wrote for another post:
