How to create Drum Rolls in GarageBand and Logic Pro

Well, I'm looking at the web for a while, and as I have not found good answers I decided to post some solutions that I got.

To create a drum roll on some drums like Tympani from Symphony Orchestra Jam Pack you can use the Foot Control in GarageBand with value 50 to create a roll, and 0 for a normal hit.

In Logic Pro, a good solution is to write all the fast hits, and then use the function MIDI > Transform > Humanize to disguise the digital effect.

I recommend using +-Random to create small variations in Velocitiy and Length, and then reaply Exponential on Velocity.

This creates an almost realistic roll effect, as it simulates the human variations.

Hope it helps.
