Hi,
Every time I power on the mac, it shows the prompt of "Single user mode", then I need to type reboot and when computer starts again shows the standard Mountain Lion user interface. It is happening since I installed Mountain Lion directly from AppStore.
Do you know how to disable this automatic "single user mode" start?

If you're using a wireless keyboard, make sure it's powered on before you boot. You can do that with an Apple keyboard by pressing the button on the right side.
Upgrade to 10.8.1. Just released. Seems to fix the problem.
Tested with wired and wireless keyboard, but still booting 1st in single user mode and ehen type "reboot" then in normal mode.

As previously explained, when I power the computer, it starts in "single user mode" then I execute "reboot" and boots normally.
This is happening everytime I power on the computer.

Unfortunattelly it was virtual.
Powering keybord before starting helps most times, but this has no sense. It must boot in normal mode until I press the keys to start with alternative modes.
As told, System updated and keeps booting in single user mode.

Take the machine to an authorized dealer for service.
I have the same problem, I've tried reseting the pRAM and vRAM, fixing permisions, and restoring from a Time Machine backup, I'm running on 10.8.2 and the problem started since the update to 10.8 directly from the App Store, called Apple Support and they got no solution either "documented problem" about this
