Macbook OS X 10.5.8 battery problem. Advice needed...

Hi all,

I have a Mac OS X version 10.5.8 bought summer 2008. It recently had a new hard drive fitted and since then it says (Not Charging) and 0% where it normally charged fine. It could be a complete coincedence that that battery no longer appears to be working properly since coming back from the shop but it seems a little odd.

It is plugged in properly. I tried doing an SMC reset to no effect. The battery is four years old and I guess it could just be dying a natural death.

As it stands, I can use the laptop so long as it is plugged in but if I accidentally knock the power cable out the laptop immediately switches off.

It is less than ideal. Can anyone help me?

Thanks a lot,

Rebecca
