sparsebundle band

OK...I screwed up...big time. This may even be too much of a challenge for The Great Pondini.

For a number of reasons, I downgraded my intel dual core iMac from ML back to SN.

My TM backups were done while the iMac was operating in ML.

I successfully performed the backgrade, using my SL disk, and following some Apple Support Community suggestions.

Once back in SL, I was unable to open the ML TM backups.

I migrated the sparsebundle from my MBP TM backup to the iMac.

Everything worked fine, but the last MBP backup I used to migrate was one year old, so is missing many recent emails and addresses.

I saved the 21 GB iMac ML sparsebundle, but cannot get the data out of it.

Double cicking on it says disk image could not be opened - reason - not recognized

Control clicking and showing package contents shows disk contains just bands folder, nothing else.

Bands folder contains many files which info tells me are unix executable files.

What I'd like to recover is addresses and saved emails from the last year.

Is this possible, or is this file useless?

I've read thru Pondini's excellent FAQ's, but they are not encouraging.

Thanks for any responses.
