Safari quits, no option to send error report.

Question

Safari quits, no option to send error report.

Several times a day, I will be using Safari (Version 6.0 (7536.25)) and it will close itself, without warning, and without bringing up the option to send an error report. Sometimes it will be using Facebook, other times it will be something as mundane as Google that will cause it to close.

Does anyone know an easy fix for this problem, or have a recommendation on what to do?

Running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4, and usually around 10 tabs in Safari at most.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Safe mode is launching Safari while holding shift. Try that and see if you have the same problem. If you do, create a new user account and try it there. If it still crashes let us know.

There were no crash reports when I had a look in there, at least not for Safari. But thanks for letting me know for future reference.

The Crash Reports are actually in the Users/Home library, which unfortunately is hidden in 10.7. & 10.8

To find the Users Library, Click on the desktop to get the Finder menu. Then go up to "Go" in the menubar, while holding down the option key. You'll see the User Library in the drop down list. Then go do to the Logs folder > Crash Reporter file. They should be in there.

That is the one I was talking about, I have it made visible because I used to use it a lot with Minecraft saves and mods. There wasn't any report in there unfortunately.

I'm using Safari in safe mode at the moment and it seems to be behaving itself, but time will tell.

Cool.

Safe mode disables most startup items & non-essential extensions etc, so if it works now, you have a much better idea of what's causing the problem.

You can check here: HD/Library/StartupItems

and look at your Extensions, 3rd party internet plugins & apps.
