My app store cannot connect to iTunes to update

Why can't app store connect to iTunes to update? I can download apps and music so they

are working fine independently. All it says is "Cannot connect to ITunes ". I tried a reset with

no difference noticed.

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1

Same!!! I go to my app store and click on updates and it says" cannot connect to iTunes store" I can download apps and everything but it won't let me update, I've had this problem before but it just went away, I've done everything all the forums have said but still nothing I still cannot update my apps, I don't know what to do!!!! Please help

I have the same problem with my iPad 2 as does my son. I got his to work by signing him out of itunes, signing me in on his iPad 2, then signing back out and him signing back in. Worked like a champ. Unfortunately, it did not for me. I called support and they referred me here or wanted to charge me $29, but he wasn't even sure what the problem was.

I had the exact same problem. I could go to iTunes (on my iPad 2) but couldn't update the apps. I tried two things. The first worked for my son's iPad 2, which was to sign out, close the store, sign back in with a different persons iTunes infomation, sign out, close again, reopen the store and enter the owners information. This worked for him, but not for mine.


Second thing I did, that worked for mine was to close everything on the iPad, go into the date/time setting. Change the date to about 4 years in the future (2016), then close. I went to iTunes to update my apps and got an error message about the date being wrong. I force closed everything, opened up the date and reset it to the current date. Went back to update my apps and everything was fine. Try it and let me know if it works for you!!!

I have the same issue the app store on my iphone4 won't show the available updates for the currently installed applications. I can download and install/update if I search specific app. But the "updates" tab reruns the error msg. "Cannot connect to iTunes store"


I have tried resetting network settings as well as signing out and back in to iTunes store. So far no luck.
