to charge it so I could use it and I get no indicator lights or anything. It has remanied in its case the whole time so i doubt any moisture has gotten to it could the battery just of died completly. Any help......never mind it just turned on after 20 mins on a charger. Hope this helps someone else with the same problem.

Leave it charging for at least 2 hour.
If the iPod battery has been left in a discharged state, it would take about 30 minutes of charging before the iPod screen comes to life.
Have not used my iPod classic in probaly 6 months went to plug it in...
