MacBook Pro not recognizing my SD Card

I have a new Nikon camera and unlike all previous cameras, Nikon and Canon, when I put a SanDisk card into a card reader and plug it int the USB drive I get a message that the drive is not recognized. The card was formated in the camera (D800) and has images on it which are viewable when it is in the camera.

This addresses my problem.

Sometimes I have to remove the sd card and re-insert it. This next part may sound funny but, I also have to wiggle the sd card gently from side to side once it's inserted. 🙂

Seriously? Well...that's what I said before I tried it and what do ya know? It does work. Thanks for posting the "weird" solution.
