macbook pro slow wireless internet cox (las vegas)

I have a Macbook Pro 2011 model. It works just fine at Starbucks, Macdonalds and other public wireless locations. But, at home, this is a different story. I recently had broadband installed at my house in Las Vegas and I seem to be having issues with the wireless connection speed. Signal is strong, but I get horrible wireless performance. Has anyone run across this? My mac pro has had a similar problem too. So, I can only assume it may be an OSX based issue. I upgrade to Mountain Lion and that didn't really help either.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
