That started for me on Mac OS X 10.9.2 - soone after restart prompted by update instalaltion

The server returned the error: The server “p03-imap.mail.me.com” cannot be contacted on port 143.

and

The server returned the error: The server “p03-imap.mail.me.com” cannot be contacted on port 993.
