Q: missing apps

ok, so i got it off the loading wheel after letting it die and then recharging it however now all my standered Ios apps are not on the device such as the app store, camera, photo album and others? i have never come accrost this before... i have looked to make sure they were nt hidden but when i try to serch in th ipod for them nothng comes up. i have tried to do a restore on the unit and keep getting an error (-50) and have already tried th trouble shooting steps as listed.... the bummer is i am no were near an apple store.

any help, please...
