Gray's Anatomy (from App Store on Macbook) not transferable to iPhone?

I bought Gray's Anatomy from the App Store on my Macbook and don't understand why I can not move a copy of it over to my iPhone 4s as either an E-Book to be viewed/read on iBook or in iTunesU. I can read my e-books on my Macbook as well as on my Macbook. I can listen to audio books on both as well as on my iPod. I can listen to my music on all three of my Apple devices. Can anybody help me on this one.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Apps that run on your Mac cannot run on an iPhone.

Two different operating systems. Mac OS X vs iOS

Conversely, apps that run on your iPhone cannot run on your Mac.

Thank you for your help Carolyn but tp the contrary of what you say, e-books can be read with Apple's iBook on iPhone & on Macbook(OS X 10.7.4) with the exclusion of 'Gray's Anatomy'. Why? I do not know and am content at that. Thanks again.

The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.

Is this the Grey's Anatomy you bought?

If it is, its not a standard e-book, it appears to be a proprietary reader app.

It also comes in an iOS version that is available to buy in the iTunes App Store.
