I have an early 2009 MacPro and I have installed a Radeon 5870 graphics card. I have two monitors that work great. I also added a 32" flat screen. I can't get all three to work at the same time. I only need the video to work.

I can get the TV to work with one monitor or both monitors will work and the TV says "No Signal" I can't get all three to work at the same time.

I had called Apple before I did this and they said installing the 5870 graphics card would work in this situation.

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Thanks Malcolm,

Just so I am clear after reading those two links.

I need ONE "dual link" adapter to "one" of the Mini Display ports and abandon ONE Mini Display ports and then I can operate TWO VGA monitors and via HDMI >ONE 32'< Flat screen TV?

So I am using ONE Mini Display port(using a dual link adapter) and the only DVI Display port on the 5870 Correct?

Thanks

Joe

When using three displays, any Mini DisplayPort adapters must be the Active type. Most Mini DisplayPort to HDMI or single-link DVI are passive.

You can connect the TV to the card's DVI port with a DVI to HDMI cable or adapter.

What sort of connections are on the other two displays.

If DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort, connect directly to the card's Mini Display port.

If DVI use a Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI adapter. (If the resolution is no greater than 1920 x 1200, an ACTIVE Mini DisplayPort to Single-Link DVI adapter would also work.)

If there is only VGA, use a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter.

Thanks for your help with this Macolm,

Right now the TV is not connected because it does not work. However these are the connections I have.

1 - DVI to VGA adapter to 1- 19 " monitor ( In use )

1 - Mini DP to VGA adapter to 1- 19" monitor ( In use )

1 - Mini DP to HDMI adapter to the Flat Screen TV (not in use)

This is the current configuration.

Thank You.....
