I have done this before without incident, however, now when I try and share an imovie project on facebook the facebook page shows for a fraction of a second then it goes straight back to the main imovie page. Facebook recently updated their mobile app. Could that be the problem?

I've got a hunch that the culprit is the new Facebook app. Sharing to Vimeo and YouTube seem to work normally.
I was thinking that too so I sent a bug report to facebook.
I had this happen too but there is an easy way around it. In IMovie select share to camera roll (not fb). Then open fb ap. and select upload video from library, choose camera roll and enjoy!
