Aug 28, 2012 4:29 AM in response to cbeshoreby Kenichi Watanabe,It should work, as long as the version of iTunes is 9 or later. The current version

would be best.
Does it currently work on the a PC with Windows XP or Vista? In other words, can you try it right now on a PC with Windows XP or Vista, using the same USB cable, to confirm it works?
If you cannot, are you using the USB cable that came with that shuffle, or a replacement that is described as being for the 3rd or 4th gen shuffle? If you are using a third-party USB cable that is made for a 2nd gen shuffle, it will not work on a 3rd or 4th gen shuffle. The connectors are different.

Aug 28, 2012 3:09 PM in response to Kenichi Watanabeby cbeshore,Thanks for the reply. I dowloaded and re-installed itunes 10 the same day I posted.
Yes, the ipod works right now perfectly on the XP and Vista machines but not the Win 7 Pro 64 bit. The USB cable is the original and the one I am connecting to the computers with.
Thanks again.

Aug 28, 2012 3:54 PM in response to cbeshoreby Kenichi Watanabe,Because it works with the other PCs, you've ruled out a problem on the shuffle itself and a problem with the USB cable. So that leaves some issue on the PC with Windows 7. I don't think 64-bit versus 32-bit is a consideration.
As a test, if you have not already, I would shut down and disconnect all other USB devices from the computer (except for standard keyboard and mouse if used). Do this to Reset the shuffle
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1655
Start up computer, run iTunes, and connect the shuffle to a direct USB port on computer.
If the shuffle is still not recognized by iTunes, also check other places, such as Device Manager, to see if it appears anywhere.
